French Guiana [ USNM syntype , examined] Lacosoma valva is one of the few species of Lacosoma that is easily recognizable, in particular by the satin black ground color and yellowish pale postmedial lines. This species is broadly distributed in the Amazonian region, and is therefore another expected species for Trinidad . The only Trinidad specimen known to us was taken at light in lowland forest (Valencia Forest; see comments under Alheita caudina above). Material examined.
