Group
Triater
This group is now expanded to include
D. apostata
Hering, 1937
and
D. nigriscutatus
White, 2006
; this removes the
Apostata
group name from the classification.
White (2006)
separated the
Apostata
and
Triater
groups by the presence or absence of a pecten. The strong similarity of
D. pseudapostata
sp.n.
to
D. apostata
, from which it differs in the absence of a pecten, indicates that these two groups are inseparable. Additionally, known hosts of both groups are
Zehneria
spp. (
Cucurbitaceae
) (
White 2006
), and Virgilio
et al
. (in press) found that DNA studies muddled representatives of both groups into a single well defined clade.
