Notes:

Segments oblong, densely scaly abaxially, with narrow hairlike scales adaxially; rhizome scales bright red-brown, flat. The “piliform scales” (
Tryon & Stolze 1989
) on the adaxial surface of the blades are hairlike scales, to five cells wide at the base.
