Orthelimaea himalayana ( Ingrisch, 1990 ) ; Female: A—Dorsal view; B—Ventral view; C—Dorsal view of head and prontum; D—Supra-anal plate & cerci; E—Lateral view of Ovipositor; F—Subgenital plate. Description: Female: Body ( Figs. 2 A–B) medium sized, 28 mm in size including ovipositor. Antennae filiform. Fastigium ( Fig. 2C ) short, concave dorsally, medially sulcated, apex separated from fastigium frontis. Dorsal surface of pronotum ( Fig. 2C ) with several dots, median carina distinct, anterior margin concave, posterior margin rounded with weak median concavity, lateral margin diverge posteriorly, transverse sulcus placed behind the middle of pronotum, ventral margin of paranota rounded; humeral sinus distinct. Prosternum unarmed. Tegmina ( Fig. 2B ) fully developed with rounded apex, radius sector branching from radius before middle of tegmen, trifurcate. Hind wing longer than tegmina with obtuse apex. All the legs armed with spines ventrally; lower genicular lobes of all femora bispinose on both sides. Anterior coxa with small spine, anterior femora straight, anterior tibia with both the tympanum conchate. Tenth abdominal tergite ( Fig. 2D ) truncated. Supra-anal plate ( Fig. 2D ) oblong, wider at base, narrowing towards the rounded apex. Cerci ( Fig. 2D ) conical, longer than supra-anal plate, more than three times longer than wide, apex acute. Ovipositor ( Fig. 2E ) sickle shaped, dorsal margin serrulate in apical 3/4, ventral margin serrulate in apical one third. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 2F ) triangular, margins diverging posteriorly, apical margin rounded with deep median incision. Measurements (mm): Length of body: 21.0, 24.3±1.3; length of head: 3.3, 3.0±0.1; length of pronotum: 5.63, 4.9±0.4; length of tegmen: 39.0, 36.3±0.8; length of hind femur: broken, 30.8±1.3; length of hind tibia: broken, 36.3±0.6; length of ovipositor: 8.8±0.6. Distribution: India : West Bengal . Discussion: Orthelimaea himalayana ( Ingrisch, 1990 ) is similar to O. insignis ( Walker, 1869 ) and O. securigera ( Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1878 ) as suggested by Ingrisch (1990) . But female of O. himalayana ( Ingrisch, 1990 ) differs from females of both these species in the presence of deep median incision in subgenital plate which is weak in O. insignis ( Walker, 1869 ) and subtruncate in O. securigera ( Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1878 ) ( Nagar et al . 2014 : Fig. 2 ). Female of O. carispina ( Ingrisch & Shishodia, 1998 ) is still unknown, therefore, comparison cannot be done with this species.
