The IRCW has a female from Caucasia, California. The species was incorrectly synonymized to
Z. calochroma
(
Metcalf 1963a
)
but was elevated again to a valid species (
Duffels and van der Laan 1985
) and is a valid taxon (

). The species has been recorded previously from
Mexico
,
Guatemala
,
Costa Rica
and
Panama
