Mauritania : MAURIT1107, stn 55, 17 °26.8'N, 16°54.5'E , 1218–1310 m , 04.XII.2007 , 1 female , 48 × 46 mm (IEO-CD-MR07/069); MAURIT0811, stn 86, 18 °12.3'N, 17°19.2'E , 1215 m , 10.XII.2008 , 2 males , 68 × 74 mm (IEO-CD-MR08/755), 59 × 76 mm (IEO-CD-MR08/756). Distribution. The species was previously reported to occur in West African waters, only off the Ivory Coast ( type locality) and Guinea –Bissau, at depths of 900 and 398 m , respectively (Macpherson 1988a). This record extends the species geographic and bathymetrical distribution to the north ( Mauritania ) and to deeper waters, between 1215 and 1310 m.
