Philhygra botanicarum
is newly recorded from British Columbia and Ontario. It was described by
Muona (1983)
from
Finland
, then reported in North America
from Newfoundland by
Muona (1984)
. Although
Muona (1984)
included this species amongst Palaearctic aleocharines occurring in North America, we consider it a Holarctic species. The bionomics of the species are unknown.
