C o m m e n t: The original description is based on "
two specimens
" from "Kobé" (
SHARP 1874
). Both of them, a male and a female, were located in the collections of the BMNH. The male is designated as the
lectotype
. An examination of the type material revealed that
Lathrobium kobense
belongs to
Pseudobium
MULSANT & REY 1878
and that this species is conspecific with
P. hunanicum
ASSING 2012
, which was recently described from
China
. Hence the synonymy proposed above. The external and sexual characters of the
lectotype
are illustrated in
Figs 44-47
.
Pseudobium kobense
is now known from one locality in
Japan
and three localities in
China
(
ASSING 2012a
,
2013d
); the distribution is illustrated in
Map 1
.
