Merodon kopensis
Vujić et Hayat
sp. n.
Diagnosis.
Male genitalia (
Fig. 6
,
7
B): posterior lobe of surstylus parallel sided, narrow tip; ventral margin strongly S-shaped with distinct convex part of the curve (
Fig. 6
A). Cercus large, larger than half the length of surstyle (
Fig. 6
A). Aedeagal box short, 1/4 of length of hypandrium (
Fig. 6
B: ab); aedeagal apodeme attached to the theca in the middle of dorsal margin (
Fig. 6
B: n). Inner edge of apical part of hypandrium straight, unsclerotized (
Fig. 7
B: x). Inner processes settled in apical 1/3 of hypandrium (
Fig. 6
B: ih). Species is similar to
M. neonaus
sp. n.
from which it differs in a few characters mentioned in the key. The most clear difference is in the shape of the inner edge of the apical part of the hypandrium (
Figs. 7
A: x, 7B: x) and smaller posterior surstyle lobe (
Figs. 6
A, 8A).
