Morsina persica Melichar, 1902 , type specimens. 1—male, lectotype, dorsal view; 2—male, lectotype, lateral view; 3—male, lectotype, face; 4—female, paralectotype, lateral view; 5—lectotype labes; 6—paralectotype label. Supplementary description. Body length with closed wing: male: 6.94–7.66 mm , Average: 7.2± 0.3 mm (n= 6), female: 8.1–8.38 mm , Average: 8.2± 0.2 mm (n= 2). Metope elongate, more than twice as long as wide between the eyes, with parallel lateral margins, slightly widened above clypeus. Upper margin of metope deeply angulately concave, forming two triangular horn-shaped extensions on the anterolateral corners. Metope with strong median carina running from its upper margin throughout clypeus. Sublateral carinae of metope very weak or indistinct. Metopoclypeal suture distinct, convex. Ocelli present. Pedicel sphaerical. Rostrum long, surpassing hind coxae; 3 rd segment almost as long as 2 nd one, narrowing apically. Metope and coryphe joint at acute angle (in lateral view). Coryphe transverse, 3 times as wide as long medially, with elevated lateral margins. Coryphe and pronotum without carinae. Pronotum slightly longer than coryphe medially. Anterior margin of pronotum strongly convex, posterior margin obtusely angulate. Paradiscal fields of pronotum rather wide behind the eyes. Paranotal lobes of pronotum wide, elongate, nearly rectangular. Mesonotum 2.5 times as long as pronotum, with weak median and distinct lateral carinae; anterior margin convex; posterior margin acutely angulate. Forewings covering body completely, extending at least 1/3 length beyond the apex of abdomen, roof-shaped in rest, not narrowing to widely rounded apices. Tegula rather small. Precostal area wide, with numerous cross veins. Basal cell elongate and pentagonal. Forewings vein sequence: R 5–10 M 5–13 CuA 4–5. R furcating in a very short distance to basal cell. M furcating firstly in basal third of the wing. CuA furcating at wing middle. Pcu + A 1 running into apex of clavus. Cross veins abundant mostly in the apical third of the wing. Clavus ¾ as long as whole wing. Hindwings subequal in length to forewings, with well developed remigial, remigio-vannal, and anal lobes, with very weak cubital and vannal clefts. Coupling lobe present. Hindwing vein sequence: R 4, r-m 1, M 2, m-cua 1, CuA 6, CuP 2, Pcu 1, A 1 2, A 2 1. R furcating firstly near to coupling lobe, then nearly to apical fourth of the wing. M furcating in apical half of the wing. CuA furcating firstly in the middle of the wing. Pcu curved towards CuP . A 2 not reaching wing edge. Hind tibia with 2 lateral spines on the outer margin, 2 latero-apical and 9–10 apical spines. First and second metatarsomeres are almost equal in length. First metatarsomere with 2 latero-apical and 7–8 apical spines on a concave row. Second metatarsomere with a straight apex and two lateral spines, FIGURES 7–8. Morsina persica Melichar, 1902 , female (Hormozgan Province). 7—dorsal view; 8—same, face. Coloration. General color varied from light to rather dark brown. Metope light brown, with a wide transverse pale band covering more than one third of the middle part. Postclypeus creamy colored or brown, with oblique orange or yellow lateral furrows besides of orangish or creamy-colored median carina. Anteclypeus creamy-colored, dark brown apically. Compound eyes black. Ocelli light yellow. Pedicel dark brown. Rostrum brown, darkening towards apex, 3 rd segment black. Coryphe light brown yellowish or reddish to dark brown (in correlation with the general color of the body), with whitish median line. Preocular fields of head each with pale transverse stripe. Each gena with wide pale (whitish) transverse stripe across ocellus. Pronotum light brown whitish. Mesonotum light brown. Thoracic sternites light yellow. Forewings generally pale, with irregular dark brown patches or spots scattered on the wing, denser and rather parallel in precostal area and apical parts. Hind wings light gray with light brown veins. Legs brown to dark brown, with darker and lighter areas or light yellow in pale specimens. Third tarsomeres darker towards the apex, with brown claws. Abdominal tergites and sternites light brown yellowish. Pygofer darker than other segments. FIGURES 9–10.
