The karyotype of the species comprises one pair of large, 9 pairs of medium and small telocentrics, and the largest telocentric X (
Fig. 24a
). There are 10 autosomal bivalents and the sole X at first metaphase (
Fig. 24b
). The X moves to one pole with autosomal halves (
Fig. 23c
).
