Diagnosis
. 8.0–8.5 mm long. One of three species of
Abscondita
with pale yellowish or very pale brown dorsum, and having both black elytral apices and black abdominal tergites 7, 8. Distinguished from
Abs. chinensis
by its slightly larger size (
chinensis
is 5.7–8.3 mm long), the pale or diffuse brown colouring of
V5
(that of
chinensis
is usually very dark brown to black), and the aedeagal sheath sternite which is terminated by a narrow lobe (that of
chinensis
is terminated by a wide lobe). Female macropterous. Larva unknown.
Male
. 8.0–8.5 mm long (see comment below). Colour: (

) dorsal surface very pale yellow with elytral apices black (specimens are ethanol preserved and the semitransparency of the elytra reveal darker markings on thorax and dorsal abdomen; elytron colour determined by pulling it to one side see

); head, antennae and palpi dark brown, head almost black between eyes; ventral surface of thorax orange yellow; legs with orange yellow coxae, trochanters and femora, dark brown tibiae and tarsi; all abdominal tergites dark brown and the dorsal striped appearance of the abdomen through the semitransparent elytra is due to the alternation of dark tergite with pale intersegmental membrane (

); T7, 8 protrude beyond the elytral apices and are black; dorsally reflexed margins of all ventrites but

Etymology
. The name of the mountain where this species was collected is used as a noun in apposition.
Remarks.
Length of these specimens taken as median length of pronotum plus maximum length of elytron. The rather large head and the last two segments of the abdomen which protrude beyond the elytral apices in all specimens were eliminated from the measurement so the overall apparent length will appear considerably longer than the figures given.
