Gulella perissodonta
(
Sturany, 1898
)
Fig. 36
Ennea perissodonta
:
Sturany 1898: 1898
: 26
, pl. 1, fig. 18 (Delagoa Bay,
Mozambique
; 4.2×
2.1 mm
).
Found
at one station on
Cabo Delgado. Two
shells (2.7×
1.4 mm
) were collected by
van Hoepen
(
van Bruggen
2006: 124) on
Ilha Vumba
only
49 km
south of station 7 on
Cabo Delgado
.
Prior
to that,
perissodonta
was known only from south-eastern
Mozambique
,
Swaziland
and north-eastern
KwaZulu-Natal
where it is quite common.
The
type
, described from the area near Maputo, is larger than illustrated here, but the shells from
northern KwaZulu-Natal
vary from 3.2×1.7 to 6.2×
2.5 mm
(van
Bruggen 1969: 47
)
