Lysilinga digita
Webb
spec. nov.
(
Figs. 364
, 374, 384, 394, 404, 414, 424, 434)
Etymology
Digitus
(Latin)
= finger. The species name is used as a noun in apposition and applies to the pointed fingerlike shape of the male gonocoxite, lateral view (Fig. 394).
Diagnosis
Lysilinga digita
is taxonomically associated with
L. chamela
in lacking setae on the katepisternum; in having the abdomen dark reddish brown; the halter knob dark brown; the dorsocentral macrosetae absent; the hypoproct quadrate (
Fig. 364
); the male frons lacking setae; and the anterior half of ejaculatory apodeme broadly expanded laterally and flattened dorsoventrally in crosssection (Fig. 414).
Lysilinga digita
differs from
L. chamela
in having the gonocoxite in lateral view (Fig. 394) with an apical, digitate projection and the apex of the distiphallus (Fig. 414) expanded laterally.
