A review of the genera Prismognathus Motschulsky and Cladophyllus Houlbert (Coleoptera: Scarabaeoidea: Lucanidae) from China, with the description of two new species Author Huang, Hao Author Chen, Chang-Chin text Zootaxa 2012 3255 1 36 journal article 10.5281/zenodo.280626 bdb9a932-2643-48f1-8545-cfeb75a683cd 1175-5326 280626 Cladophyllus nobuhikoi Ikeda, 2000 ( Figs. 9–12 ) Cladophyllus bousqueti nobuhikoi Ikeda, 2000 : 42 [ type locality: Sapa, northern Vietnam ], Fig. (not giving a number), male habitus. Prismognathus nobuhikoi : Fujita 2010 : 169 , taxonomic changes, plate 101, Figs. 511-1, male; 511-2, female, from Sapa, Vietnam . Material examined. CHINA : Yunnan: 1 3, Jinping County, Fenshuiling Nature Reserve, ca. 1800m , 18.IX.2010 , Xiao-Dong Yang leg., captured from a decay log. Identification . This species was described as a subspecies of Cladophyllus bousqueti , only differing for the blackish brown body and the strongly curved mandible with 5–6 inner teeth stated as the diagnostic characters. It was raised to species status by Fujita (2010) , who listed more differences. A male specimen from southern Yunnan examined by us matches all the characters of Cladophyllus nobuhikoi . The examination of the male genitalia proved this species to be different from C. bousqueti . It should be noted that Jinping in southern Yunnan is very close to Sapa in northern Vietnam and shares the same lucanid fauna. A female of Cladophyllus nobuhikoi was illustrated by Fujita (2010) and differs from the female of C. bousqueti by the characters of antenna. The female genitalia of Cladophyllus nobuhikoi were not previously described. Distribution. Southern Yunnan (Fenshuiling Reserve), northern Vietnam (Sapa).
