Distribution . Members of this genus live mainly on the southern hemispere between 08°S and 73°S and a depth of 133–4758 m with the exemption of Spinacopia sandersi which Kornicker 1969 found on 30° N at a depth of more than 1000m (Kornicker, 1969, 1970, 1975, 1995; Hartmann, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992) ( Table 1 ).
