This species appears to be unusual for Ceratocyrtis in that the cephalis is barely distinguishable from the thorax and the thorax is very short, which are characteristics more common in genera such as Helotholus and Steganocubus than Ceratocyrtis . However, the authors note that this species has an axobate that is prominent and dendritic, so we accept their placement in Ceratocyrtis .
