HOLOTYPE : AMNH 219536 , adult male, collected on Ganongga ( 5 Ganonga) Island, 08.00S , 156.34E (Times Atlas), Solomon Islands , on 25 October 1927 , by Rollo H. Beck on the Whitney South Sea Expedition (no. 28825). COMMENTS : The AMNH number of the holotype was cited in the original description. Mayr (1936: 19) gave further details on ganongae along with measurements of four males and three females . Paratypes are: AMNH 219533–219535, adult males, AMNH 219537, immature male, AMNH 219538, immature female, and AMNH 219539– 219541, adult females, all collected on Ganongga in October 1927 .
