Crown V-shaped, face (excluding eyes) slightly longer than broad, frons small and slightly inflated, ocelli usually about 2× as far from midline of face as from eyes; lora small, clearly defined in female, in male varying from clearly defined to very narrow, concealed by prominent lobes of frons; clypellus slightly tapered, sometimes expanded apically; head as wide as pronotum or narrower; pronotum usually slightly declivous, striations variable but always at least slightly oblique; forewings with three subapical cells, veins rarely spotted with white; meta tibial macrosetae on posterodorsal row 6–11; male pygofer armed with stout spine-like process arising on ventral margin, directed caudad or dorsad; dorsal connectives slender and unarmed, or unsclerotized; pregenital tergite with quadrate notch at middle of hind margin in male ( Hamilton 1980 ).
