Type locality: “à Sidémi” [there are several localities with this name: one is now the Narva River in the Khasan District of Russian Far East ; another the Jankowsky peninsula, on the eastern bank of the Peter the Great Gulf , near the ‘ Kedrovaya Pad’ Nature Reserve ; and another Bezverkhovo village of the Khasan District , formerly Jankowsky’s estate; all these localities are situated rather close together] . Present status: Tethea trifolium ( Alphéraky, 1895 ) : Tetheini. Taxonomic remarks: A member of the subgenus Saronaga Moore, 1881 . Nomenclatural notes: S. Alphéraky, 1895 writes “Cette remarquable Cymatophora est éclose, chez Mr. Jankowski , à Sidemi, d’une chenille inobservée, trouvée en 1887”: thus this, the only known specimen, is a holotype by monotypy. It is a male (in the type collection of ZISP ) with the following labels: a white rectangle with black frame and inscription with black ink “Sidemi | e.l. 1887–1888 ”, a white rectangle with a printed text «Колл. Вел. Кн. | НиколаЯ | Михайловича» [“Collection of the Grand Duke Nikolay Mikhailovich”], a white quadrat with inscrip- tion with red ink “95”, a white rectangle with inscription with red ink “ Nach Stdgr. vielleicht | wunderbare Octogesima ab. ”, a red rectangular “ Holotypus . Cymatophora | trifolium Alph., 1895 ♂ | design. Dubatolov et | Zolotuhin, 1994” and white “микр. преп. № 15203” [microprep. Nr 15203]. The genitalia preparation is kept separately in a glass vial in ethanol/glycerine solution .
