The species is the most common and widespread
Docosia
in the Palaearctic region (
Laštovka and Ševčík 2006
), but not previously reported from
Montenegro
. Male hypopygium of
D. gilvipes
has been recently illustrated by
Laštovka and Ševčík (2006)
and
Kurina (2008)
. Larvae are polymycophagous, known to occur in more than 40 species of fungi (
Ševčík 2010
).
