Mandibles stout and elongate, distinctly cross each other. Clypeus wider than long, weakly emarginate apically. Female without subcircular fovea in front of median ocellus (present in Labus ). Cephalic foveae absent. Mesosoma more or less flattened dorso-ventrally, distinctly longer than high. Anterior face of pronotum without medial pits or foveae, sometimes with median transverse striae present. Pronotal carina usually present dorsally. Pronotum produced at humeri. Pretegula carina generally absent or weakly developed? Epicnemial carina weakly developed. Notauli absent. Tegula as wide as long or wider, emarginate posteriorly and reaches posterior end of parategula. Metanotum not dentate, precipitous ( Fig. 35 ). Axillary fossa wide. Propodeal dorsum with extensive horizontal portion behind the postscutellum, somewhat narrowed apically, abruptly sloping posteriorly ( Fig. 35 ). Superior carina absent. Propodeal orifice wide dorsally. Submarginal carina produced as lamellar pointed process above valvula. Propodeal valvula free from submarginal carina posteriorly. Metasoma petiolate, T1 punctate, not conspicuously swollen in apical half ( Fig. 67 ). Lateral margins of T1 closely approaching each other ventrally, usually fused. T2 and S2 lamellate apically. SMC2 basally truncate. Mid tibia with one apical spur. Prestigma much shorter than pterostigma. Ƌ: F11 hook like, rounded apically; F10 shorter than previous ones; apical flagellomeres without cavity on inner margin but sometime a shallow groove present on it. Body length usually 10–12 mm . Distribution. Ethiopian, Oriental and Palaearctic Regions .
