Description
. Male. Body oblong, slightly convex, shining, covered with brown setae. Coloration of head, antennomeres 1–3, pronotum, scutellum and legs yellowish-brown, hind legs are infuscate; antennomeres 4– 11 and mouthparts slightly darkened, brownish; elytra dark brown, but anterior margin, surrounding parts of scutellum and suture yellowish-brown. Each elytron with three transverse maculate areas; anterior ones consisting of five oval small spots, situated in basal 1/4; middle ones consisting of five small oval spots, situated just behind the middle of elytra; posterior spots circular, situated in apex.
Head moderate in size, slightly convex in dorsal surface, finely punctate; clypeus long, expanded anterolaterally, gently arcuate in front margin. Eyes moderate in size, prominent; the distance between the eyes ca. 1.9 times as long as the maximum diameter of an eye. Antennae filiform, reaching ca. proximal 1/4 of elytra. Pronotum slightly convex above in mesal part of the disk, finely punctate; antero-lateral corners almost acute, projecting anteriorly; front and lateral margins gently arcuate; postero-lateral corners right-angled; posterior margin slightly bisinuate; PW/PL 2.11–2.75 (2.31). Scutellum relatively small, finely punctate, equilateral-triangular. Elytra oblong-oval, widest at the middle, closely punctate; humeri elevated; EL/EW 1.36–1.63 (1.45); EL/PL 4.44–5.44 (4.98); EW/PW 1.33–1.57 (1.47); TL/EW 1.65–1.94 (1.76). Legs long. Hind tibial spurs long, dorsal spur almost straight, ventral spur curved; dorsal spurs ca. 2.1 times as long as ventral ones, ca. 0.7 times as long as hind tarsomere 1. Tergite VIII moderately sclerotized, trapezoidal, bearing a row of setae on apical margin, with a pair of long and stout apodemes; tergite IX lightly sclerotized, apical margin arcuate, bearing minute spines in apical part, with a pair of stout apodemes; sternite IX almost membranous, bearing dense setae in apical part. Aedeagus asymmetrical. Tegmen well sclerotized, connected with penis; basal part semicircular; parameres long and large, of different lenghts, the longer one is straight with outwardly hooked apex, almost as long as basal part, the shorter one is distinctly outwardly arcuate. Penis well sclerotized, simply lobed, as long as parameres of tegmen, connected with tegmen in apical part, not exceeding basal part of tegmen.
Female. Unknown.

Notes.
Sharing features of
Scirtes maxi
sp. n.
(yellow pronotum with only slightly darkened disc, relatively small body). Differs from
Scirtes teruhisai
sp. n.
(anterior elytral band consisting of oval spots). Certain identification possible on the basis of morphology of aedeagus with one of parameres hooked.
