Diagnosis.
Gonatocerus karakum
is the only known Palaearctic species of the subgenus that has the fore wing with the cubital row of setae not extending to the base of the marginal vein (
Fig.
101
).
Etymology.
The species name (a noun in apposition) is that of
Karakum
Desert which occupies much of the area of
Turkmenistan
.
