Examined material. Holotype Ƌ: France , Haute-Corse , Calacuccia , 960 m , 4.VIII.2015 , uv, Th. Varenne leg., genitalia slide JN n°29354 ( RCTV ). BOLD Specimen ID TLMF 21932; BOLD Sequence ID LEASS474-17. BIN: BOLD:ADF8325 Identity: Phyllonorycter corsica Varenne & Nel, 2016 Remarks. Phyllonorycter corsica was described from a male holotype and compared with several congeners, particularly P. echinosparti Laštůvka & Laštůvka, 2006 and P. baetica Laštůvka & Laštůvka, 2006 . The full DNA barcode of the holotype with ca. 5.5% divergence to the nearest neighbour in BOLD, P. eugregori Laštůvka & Laštůvka, 2006 supports a separate species status, possibly as an endemic species for Corsica , feeding on a species of broom.
