New Synonymies and Notes on North American Loxandrus LeConte (Coleoptera: Carabidae) Author Bousquet, Yves text The Coleopterists Bulletin 2006 2006-06-30 60 2 145 157 http://dx.doi.org/10.1649/865.1 journal article 10.1649/865.1 1938-4394 The rectus group Members of this group share the following character states: mentum with sides rounded, tooth narrow and not reaching apices of lobes, paramedian foveal pits small; lateral depressions of pronotum with meshed microsculpture; disc of pronotum without meshed microsculpture; posterior angles of pronotum widely rounded, not denticulate; anterotranverse impression well impressed even medially; elytra without orange spot at apical fourth around suture; elytral microsculpture striate, lines indistinct; epipleuron with subapical plica; metasternum and metepisternum with or without punctures; metasternum with relatively deep constriction medially at level of posterior edges of mesocoxae; tarsomeres 5 without setae underneath; endophallus with sclerotized ring; body size medium to large (SBL ¼ 7.5–11.8 mm ). This group includes four species, all of them are more or less restricted to the Coastal Plain in the southeastern United States .
