Diagnosis. Distinguished from the remaining species of Pediella by male cerci slender; tegmina with acute apex; and phallic complex with cingulum largely developed with elevated collar like zygoma, rami wide, extended ventrally mandible like shaped; apical valves of aedeagus ventrally concave. FIGURE 1. Pediella habitus; A–D, males, species as indicated. Description. Body color dorsally olive green with tinges of brown, with a yellow mid-longitudinal stripe on dorsum of abdomen and epiproct; face, anterior edge of pronotum and thorax ventrally whitish green porcelaine; epimeron with a whitish porcelain stripe; abdominal sternites and subgenital plate brightly red; ventral area of first and second pair of legs red; hind femur with ventral and inner area orange red, dorsal area olive green, outer area red with tinges of yellow; hind tibia and tarsi orange red. Tegmina with acute apex 1. http://orthoptera.speciesfile.org/Common/basic/ShowImage.aspx?TaxonNameID=77279&ImageID=68997 ( Fig. 1B ). Cerci slim, tapering at the distal end, apex acute ( Figs. 4B, F ). Phallic complex ( Figs. 5F–J ): cingulum largely developed with elevated collar like zygoma; rami wide, extended ventrally mandible like shaped; arch of the cingulum large; apical valves of aedeagus ventrally concave; epiphallus with largely developed lophi. Females: body color brown, with patches of cream areas; whitish mid-longitudinal stripe on dorsum of abdomen; face cream; abdomen ventrally yellow; hind femur ventral and inner area red.
