According to
Mathur (1975: 31, comment by F. Ossiannilsson)

Burckhardt & Lauterer 1997: 291
) the Indian populations identified as
Aphalara maculipennis
may not be conspecific with European
A. maculipennis
. We examined one female from Kashmir (BMNH) which looks, however, like European specimens. More material is required to solve this question.
