Only known from the original description and the more detailed description and illustration of Berthier (1885: 101, pl. 6, fig. 4) , who gave an additional location, “Mansourah”, in the Nile Delta. Kobelt (1911: 22) mistakenly reported the locality as that of Ampullaria letourneuxi Bourguignat, 1879 (listed under Pila herein), which was described in the same publication as Meladomus letourneuxi Bourguignat, 1879 .
