Type species: Neophyllobius elegans Berlese, 1886 ; by original designation. Diagnosis (revised from Fan & Zhang, 2005 ) Female. Stylophore with 1–2 pairs of peritremes. Counts of setae and solenidia from palptrochanter to palptarsus: 0, 2, 1, 3 + 1 claw, 2 setae + 1–2 eupathidia + 1 solenidion. Idiosoma with 14 or 15 ( pdx present) pairs of setae. Genital valves with 1 pair of setae, anal valves with 3 pairs of pseudanal setae. Solenidion on basal halves of tarsi I and II. Tarsi I–II each with 1–2 medio­ventral setae in a longitudinal line and III–IV each with 1–2 medio­ventral setae. Counts of setae and solenidia of legs I–IV: coxae (excluding 1a , 3a , and 4a ) 2 + 1 elcI , 1, 2, 2; trochanters 1, 1, 1, 1; femora 3–4, 2–4, 1–3, 1–3; genua 1 + 1, 1 + 1, 1, 1; tibiae 9 + 1, 8 + 1, 8 + 1, 7 + 1; tarsi 9–10 + 1, 9–10 + 1, 7–8 + 0–1, 7–8. Male. Aedeagus present; tibia I with an additional terminal solenidion; tarsi I–IV each with an enlarged solenidion. Remarks Since the revision of the genus by Bolland (1991) , 25 species have been added to the genus, most of which are from the Middle East (Appendix 1). Previously only a single species was known from Australia . Below we review the description of this species and describe two new species.
