Linognathus stenopsis
(
Burmeister, 1838
)
*
Although
Linognathus stenopsis
is a common parasite of goats (
Capra hircus
), there are no records of
Linognathus stenopsis
from
Malaysia
, as studies on sucking lice from domestic animals and livestock are lacking (MohdZain
et al.
2015).
Ferris (1933)
reported that the ibex (
Capra ibex
) and chamois (
Rupicapra rupicapra
) can also be hosts to this louse species. Unlike
Linognathus africanus
, no pathogens of medical or veterinary importance have yet been detected in
L. stenopsis
(
Durden 2019
)
.
