Approximately sixteen radial ribs ornamated with hyote spines. Type locality ‘‘Les mers de la Nouvelle Hollande , à la baie des Chiens-Marins’’ ( Shark Bay , Western Australia ) . Distribution Hokkaido to Kyushu, Japan , New Caledonia , northwestern Australia , East China Sea and the tropical Pacific, e.g. Hong Kong . Sandy gravel bottoms at between 5– 450 m deep and now submarine caves.
