Choristoneura pseudofumiferana
is extremely similar in forewing maculation and genitalia to
Choristoneura neurophaea
(Meyrick, 1932)
and
Choristoneura griseicoma
(Meyrick, 1924)
, both described from Kashmir,
India
, and illustrated by
Clarke (1958)
. Although it is possible that the three are conspecific, it is not the purpose of this note to resolve this potential taxonomic issue, which requires further investigation and careful examination of the
types
.
Three additional new species proposed in the unpublished thesis of
Ahmad (2015)
and listed by
Ganai & Khan (2017)
still await scrutiny and possible description. All were recognized as distinct and treated as nomina nuda by
Pathania
et al.
(2020)
.
