River.—General distribution: Indus River basin,
Pakistan
.—Habitat: This species occurs primarily in rivers (and sometimes in lakes) in sub-mountainous areas. It is potamodromous, migrating upstream in May–August in the lower reaches, and then in winter it migrates back downstream, covering large distances. It is a carnivorous species that feeds on aquatic insects and mollusks. Freshwater.
