Ozotrioza laurinearum
Kieffer, 1905
Distribution.
India
:
West Bengal
(
Kieffer 1905
).
Host plant.
Possibly
Beilschmiedia sikkimensis
(Lauraceae)
.
Comments.
Kieffer’s (1905)
description of
Ozotrioza laurinearum
is not diagnostic, the
type
material destroyed and the host identification uncertain. The species was not reported again since its original description and its identity is doubtful.
Trioza beilschmiediae
Yang, 1984
, another Asian species associated with
Beilschmiedia
, matches the description of
O. laurinearum
in several aspects such as the structure of the antennae, forewings and hind legs, in addition to the gall morphology, but is distinctly smaller. The two species may be closely related. See also comments on
Ozotrioza styracearum
