The author has a specimen from Chaco, Carida. The taxonomic affiliation of this species was questioned by Metcalf (1963b) as a member of the genus Cicada Linné, 1758 but the specimen matches a specimen in the NHRS identified as Fidicina xanthospila Germar. The species is transferred to Bergalna based on tripartite tarsi and lack of a point on the posterior cruciform elevation as per the Boulard and Martinelli (1996) key. The species was previously reported from Brazil ( Metcalf 1963b ). Material examined. COLOMBIA , Chaco , Carida , Sept.-Oct.67” ( one female , AFSC ) .
