Coroia magna González-Sponga, 2005 : 102 , pl. 2, figs. 1–11; new synonymy. Justification of synonymy. We have not re-examined the type specimens (from Falcón State, Venezuela ) but González-Sponga’s drawings show all the distinctive characters of this species (armature of chelicerae; shape of palp and of bulbal processes; shape of epigynal sclerites). In addition, Artema is an Old World genus, and A. atlanta is the only species that has attained a pantropical distribution (including numerous New World records, e.g. Walckenaer 1837 ; Blackwall 1858 ; Karsch 1879 ; Petrunkevitch 1929 ; Brignoli 1981 ).
