Type
species.
Microphylacinus verendus
sp. nov.
; gender masculine.
Etymology.
The genus name is derived from Greek prefix
Micro
and refers to the body size of
Microphylacinus verendus
.
Diagnosis.
The genus is most closely related to
Phylacinus
due to the structure of aedeagal tegmen (
Fig. 1–3
) and by the appearance of at least one row of punctures on pseudopleuron.
Microphylacinus
is similar to the
Phylacinus
,
Zadenos
LAPORTE, 1840 and
Loensus
LUCAS,
1920 in
the structure of the tarsi (preapical tarsomere reduced, fig. 11).
Microphylacinus
differs from
Phylacinus
by following characters: tegmen of aedeagus is fully divided in to two parts by the lateral gap (
Fig. 1–3
), fronto-clypeal suture forms a distinct sulcus (
Fig. 20
) and by small body size (
3.8–4.6 mm
).
