Notes.
A group 2 species.
C. mortoni
was published by
Do & Dang (2007)
, who based themselves on
Pritykina (1992)
and later by
Kitagawa & Katatani (2014)
, both from Tam Dao, northern
Vietnam
. However, neither of these authors provided illustrations of the genital ligula of specimens involved. We have examined several specimens from Tam Dao and identified these as
C. haksik
(see above). The genital lobe of
C. haksik
divides into two reflexed horns with blunt, square-shaped tips (
Fig. 5
C–D), but in
C. mortoni
the genital lobe flares out (not reflexed) into rounded horns with a hooked tip (
Lieftinck 1977: p. 15,
Figs. 1–2
). Apart from this difference
C. haksik
and
C.
mortoni
are very similar in appearance. Because details of the genital ligula had not been provided for the records of Vietnamese
“
C. mortoni
”
, we consider the occurrence of this species in
Vietnam
as doubtful.
