Notes.
We re-instate
Scolia (Discolia) inouyei
Okamoto, 1924
as a valid species, after examining a specimen from
Yunnan
. This species is clearly different from
S. nobilis
; the legs are reddish, with wings pale as the spots of the tergites, the pronotum dorso-posteriorly (“scapula”) bright yellow laterally, the lateral carina extending over the propodeal spiracle (just reaching to the spiracle in
S. nobilis
); the median suture of the frons (“frontal fissure”) absent (distinct in
S. nobilis
); the antenna longer, with penultimate joints nearly as long as wide (antenna distinctly shorter, with penultimate joints wider than long in
S. nobilis
); and the upper part of the metapleuron with sparse punctures only medially (largely densely punctate in
S. nobilis
).
