The species is rare in the Lurenzgriecht and the single individuals may derive from a small spring influent to the stream along the collecting site. The larva differs from the similar A. nodipalpis larva on the one hand by the larger width of the Expp and on the other by its slightly smaller measurements, e.g. in distance V2-V2 or length of common margin CXI-III.
