Genus
Opisthoplatia
Brunner von Wattenwyl,
1865
Type
species
:
Polyzosteria orientalis
Burmeister,
1838
. By subsequent designation.
Note
. The genus
Opisthoplatia
includes two species (
Beccaloni
2007
): the widespread
O. orientalis
and
O. beybienkoi
Anisyutkin,
2005
known only from the Mindoro Island of the
Philippines
(
Anisyutkin
2005
). The range of
O. orientalis
includes
India
, Indochina peninsula, Java,
China
and
Japan
(
Princis
1967
;
Beccaloni
2007
). I have never seen specimens of
O. orientalis
from
India
or
Sri Lanka
; it is likely to be an invasive species in these countries. The morphology of
O. orientalis
was described by
Anisyutkin (
1999
)
.
