Corylus wulingensis
was recognized by the
World Checklist and Bibliography of
Fagales
(
Govaerts & Frodin 1998
)
, but not mentioned in the
Flora of
China
(
Li & Skvortsov 1999
). However, according to the protologue and the accompanying figure, this taxon is morphologically intermediate between
C. yunnanensis
and the
type
of
C. heterophylla
var.
crista-galli
(listed here as a synonym of
C. heterophylla
var.
sutchuensis
). It shares the dense indumentum with the former, and the occurrence of glandular trichomes and the short involucre with the latter taxon.
