Diagnosis . Recognized among species of Ommatides by males submacropterous with small membrane not reaching tip of abdomen; dorsal lobe of 1st labial segment with apex rounded and with many (~22) short, stout setae; 4th labial segment without armature; abdominal spiracle 8 set upon membranous tubercle of tergum 8 process. Most similar to O. pristis sp. nov. in the lack of armature on the 4 th labial segment, but distinguished by being submacropterous, and by the state of spiracle 8. Description . Male : submacropterous with short membrane not reaching tip of abdomen, length: 1.67 mm ; body ovoid. COLORATION : wings and pronotum dark brown; vertex of head yellow; body brown; legs yellow ( Fig. 1 ). SURFACE AND VESTITURE : dorsal lobe of expanded 1st labial segment with many (~22) short, stout setae; 4th labial segment without armature; forefemur without anterior spicules; 2nd tarsomere of hind leg with 2 stout setae anteroventrally. STRUCTURE . HEAD: disc decurrent anteriorly; 1st labial segment strongly expanded dorsally, apex rounded; 2nd labial segment elongate; 3rd labial segment short; 4th labial segment slightly longer than 3rd and unarmed ( Fig. 5 ). THORAX: ratio of pronotal collar length to pronotum length 0.29; collar depressed below rest of pronotum ( Fig. 1 ); posterolateral margin of pronotum somewhat broadly and shallowly concave; postnotum unknown; ratio of height of forefemur to length of forefemur 0.25; tarsal formula 3-3-3; ratio of length of hind tibia to width of pronotum 1.33; venation of submacropterous forewing as in Fig. 7 ; tc nearly rectangular; dc shaped like a long parallelogram; An1 meeting Cu. ABDOMEN AND GENITALIA: as in genus description ( Fig. 9 A,B ), with abdominal spiracle 8 membranous and separated from sclerotized tergum 8 process ( Fig. 6 ). Female : unknown. Etymology . Patronym derived from the type locality, Pillcopata, of the holotype and only known specimen. Distribution. Only known from the type locality in the foothills of the Andes in Pillcopata, Peru .
