Pachycondyla astuta
. B.M.
Worker. Length 5 lines.-Black: the mandibles, flagellum, tibiae and tarsi ferruginous; the head oblong and delicately striated longitudinally. Thorax elongate, rounded anteriorly and obliquely truncate posteriorly; the prothorax striated, the stria; somewhat obliquely curved; the meso- and metathorax slightly rugose. The node of the abdomen compressed, thick and bent forwards, the upper margin rounded, the anterior and posterior surfaces transversely striated. Abdomen oblong, slightly pilose and shining; the posterior margins of the segments rufo-piceous, the apex ferruginous.
