, along with
S. dromus
and
S. ploetzi
is placed in the
dromus
group of
Spialia
by
De Jong
(1978). It was described from north-east
Uganda
(Evans 1951) and is restricted to this area and north-western
Kenya
as far east as
Meru
and
Marsabit
Parks (
De Jong
1978, Larsen 1991). It is restricted to the drylands of north and northwest
Kenya
. Nothing more is known of the habitat and incidence of this species, and the food plants and life history are unknown.
