Name Preoccupied by Bleeker, 1858 and Leonardi, 1898. Type : Hemipimpla alboscutellaris Szépligeti ; original designation. Acropimpla Townes, 1960 : 159 . Type : Charitopimpla leucostoma Cameron , original designation. Diagnosis. Body moderately long and slender; clypeus distinctly convex with its apical margin medially emarginated deeply. Malar space short. Occipital carina complete, dipped a little on middle line above; submetapleural carina complete; propodeum rather short and convex, with or without median longitudinal carinae. Fore wing with areolet triangular (3rs-m absent in A. tricolor ), oblique, receiving 2m-cu at its apical corner. Hind wing with Cu1 & cu-a angled under middle. T1 short and wide, with median dorsal and dorsolateral carinae strong; T2 with short, oblique grooves cutting off its basolateral corners; T3–4 with distinct tubercles, transverse smooth band at apical 0.15–0.20; hypopygium usually completely sclerotized but sometimes with median basal membranous area. Ovipositor straight, compressed, its lower valve with very oblique ridges at apex, ovipositor sheath 0.4–0.7 as long as fore wing. This genus is similar to Scambus Hartig , but can be distinguished by having the following features: T2 with distinct oblique grooves cutting off the basolateral corners; areolet receiving 2m-cu usually at its outer corner; ridges of basal tooth of lower valve of ovipositor at about 15 degrees from the horizontal.
