Amplaria is distributed along the west coast of North America from southern California to southern British Columbia, with a single species in northern Idaho ( Shear 2021 ). Diagnosis: Distinct from the subfamily Trisariinae Shear, 2020 in the form of the gonopods, which in species of Trisariinae are compact and with all elements rotated laterally, while in species of Striariinae the same elements are aligned to the body axis. In addition, the ninth legs of trisariines have the sternum, coxae and telopodites fused, while these elements are separate in striariines ( Shear 2020 ).
