Rondani cited the name as “ Semiomya Bremi”, also in synonymy with Trixa . Rondani’s (1859b) Semiomya was not made available by subsequent usage before 1961. Semiomyia Macquart, 1848 and Semiomya Rondani, 1859 are missing from recent regional Diptera catalogs but at least the former has been listed by Bezzi & Stein (1907: 438 ; as “ Semiomyia Bremi in litt. ap. Macq. 1848”) and Coquillett (1910: 605 ; as “ Semiomyia Bremi ”) under Trixa Meigen, 1824 , which we follow here.
