( Figs. 1–5 ) Description. Female. Body size small for this genus. Head. Head not exerted above the pronotal surface, surface rough, covered with large and small granules. Vertex uneven with paired fossulae, a little contracted forward in dorsal view, 1.7 times as wide as one eye; anterior margin straight, just level with anterior margin of eye; anterior part of lateral carina distinctly folded upward; median carina only conspicuous and erected in anterior half; in profile, fastigium (vertex together with frontal costa) rounded; frontal costa concave between lateral ocelli, frontal ridge protruding as arch between antennae, width of longitudinal furrow slightly less than width of first segment of antennae. Antennae filiform, 17 segmented, middle segments 5.8 times as long as wide, the upper margin of antennal base segment just level with lower margin of eye. Eyes globose. Lateral ocelli placed slightly below middle of inner margins of eyes. Pronotum. Pronotum tectiform, roof-like, disc very coarse and uneven, covered with granules and tubercula and paired thick keels in dorsal view; mid-keel entire and thick, upper margin undulated in profile, distinctly elevated with swollen base before shoulder and less elevated behind shoulder; anterior margin nearly straight, slightly concave in middle; hind process reaching 7/10 of hind femora or base of supra-anal plate, apex narrowly rounded; humeral angle indistinct; distance between prozonal carinae gradually narrowed backward; abbreviated carinae between shoulders present; external lateral carina almost reaching apex of lower margin of pronotum; lateral lobe of pronotum with posterior angle turning outwards, apex truncated, posterior margins with one concavity (tegminal sinus very shallow). Tegmina and alae extremely degenerated, both hidden beneath pronotum and externally invisible. Fore femur with lower edge almost straight, 3.8–4.1 times as long as wide; mid femur with lower edge slightly undulated, 3.9–4.1 times as long as wide; hind femur stubby, 2.6–2.7 times as long as wide, antegenicular and genicular denticles nearly right angled, dorsal part of hind tibia with 6 outer and 5 inner teeth, first tarsal segment 1.1 times as long as third one, three pulvilli larger in turn and with apexes obtuse. Abdomen. Subgenital plate with posterior margin triangularly protruding in middle. Valves of ovipositor narrow, dentate; upper valve 4.9 times and lower valve 5.4 times longer than their maximum width. Coloration. General coloration of body black or brown. Outer side of hind femur with light rings in the base and middle; hind tibia dark brown, with light rings in the base and middle. Male. Unknown. Measurements (mm). Length of body: female 8.8–9.0; pronotum: female 6.3–6.4; antenna: female 3.4–3.5; hind femur: female 5.0–5.1. Type material. Holotype , female, China , Yunnan , Ruili , 24°04.55’N , 97°48.16’E , 1417 m alt, 21 Jul. 2018 , coll. Ben-Yong MAO and Yu-Peng HAN . Paratype , female, same data as holotype. Diagnosis. Macromotettixoides tuberculata Mao, Li & Han , sp. n. is similar to M. undulatifemura Deng et al ., 2012 . The major differences are listed in Table 1 . Etymology. The new species epithet ‘tuberculata’ means pronotum is covered with large and small tubercula on disc.
